What is My UofSC Experience?
My UofSC Experience consists of the many experiences both for credit and not for credit that students engage in while at UofSC that complements their major curriculum. Undergraduate students are encouraged to explore and engage in the vast opportunities that UofSC offers in order to maximize their education. Opportunities include participation in clubs, attending campus events, and experiential learning opportunities such as practicums, internships, study abroad, research, peer leadership, and service learning.
Each student's records of documented educationally purposeful activities, events and
programs are called their My UofSC Experience.
Available now to students who enrolled at UofSC in Fall 2018 and subsequent terms:
- Students can go to my.sc.edu to access their My UofSC Experience records
- Students can now create, store, and manage draft versions of UofSC Experience transcripts
- Students can designate one transcript for distribution to a prospective employer (when this feature is available, see below)
- Students can change the designation of which version of their transcript to distribute to an employer, prior to each order
- Students can order distribution of an official My UofSC Experience transcript to prospective employers, graduate schools, or other, using the Registrar’s transcript storefront (same location for academic transcripts).
Student & Advisor Access
My UofSC Experience records are available to students who were new freshmen or new transfers in Fall 2018 and later, and to their advisors. Students login at my.sc.edu and click on “View My UofSC Experience.” under the Academics heading. Students see a list of cataloged records that comprises the programs and events they’ve completed each term. Each student record is linked to a catalog entry describing the educational purpose of the program and the knowledge and skills students practice. These descriptions serve as an educational tool to help students reflect on their learning and to guide planning for future involvement. This information is useful in advising conversations as it provides a holistic view of a student’s college experience beyond the academic transcript.

Courses and programs are designated as ELO through a university review/approval process; information about approved experiences is recorded in My UofSC Experience. ELO course records do not replace academic records of course completion; rather, these records provide supplemental information about students’ experiences (e.g., employer name and location of internships).
Engagements include non-credit, educationally purposeful programs and events that have previously not been centrally documented in university information systems. Engagements are documented in catalog entries (similar to course syllabus) and student participation is systematically monitored and recorded.
