Class Descriptions

Group X classes are taught by trained instructors, at all experience levels and intensities.

Cardio Classes

BODYATTACK™ is a high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. We combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. A LES MILLS™ instructor will pump out energizing tunes and lead you through the workout – challenging your limits in a good way, burning calories and leaving you with a sense of achievement.

BODYCOMBAT™ is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness and burning calories in a fun class. No experience needed. Learn moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu. Release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ. Bring your best fighter attitude and leave inhibitions at the door.

Calling all those who love to dance! In this class you’ll learn choreographed dance routines to some of your favorite songs! Each class builds on the choreography from the previous week so you’ll be moving like Channing Tatum by the end of the semester! This class will take your dance fitness to the next level.

H.I.I.T. Fit uses principles of high intensity interval training to elevate your heart rate and boost your cardiovascular fitness in a short amount of time. You can expect intervals of activity with intermittent rest periods, burning calories during class and for hours after. The class will vary based on instructor and may utilize bodyweight movements, light to medium weights, resistance bands, medicine balls or more!

Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat. You can expect a mix of low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. This total body workout will improve your cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle endurance, balance, and flexibility. Expect a boost of energy and great music from our instructors.


Cardio & Strength Classes

This high energy demanding workout will challenge you by incorporating both strength and cardiovascular movements to maximize your workout. You can expect high intensity, fast-paced movements, plyometric drills and use of kettlebells, battle ropes, medicine balls and more. This class is great for those looking to minimize time at the gym while maximizing strength and endurance. All fitness levels are welcome.

PiYo combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. We crank up the speed to deliver a true fat burning, low impact workout that leaves your body feeling lean and defined.

TRX Suspension training systems will be used to leverage gravity and bodyweight to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously, during this full body class. Giving you complete control, TRX allows you to cater each exercise to your own personal fitness level by changing the position of your body. Instruction on how to use the TRX system and proper form, alignment and safety will be shown. No prior TRX experience is necessary.

A wildly addictive cardio dance workout. Based on the hottest pop and hip-hop music.


Indoor Cycling Classes

Space is limited.

Take a guided ride on our Keiser indoor cycling bikes with varying speeds, resistance levels and intensities to challenge your cardiorespiratory endurance and lower body strength. Music and choreography will vary based on instructor, but you can expect to increase your heart rate, challenge your core and lower body, and sweat the calories away every single time. Instruction on bike setup and safety will be provided prior to class. All fitness levels are welcome.

 

Mind-Body Classes

This is a form of yoga focusing on mental and emotional relaxation, while still including traditional yoga poses and sequences. Less intense poses may be held for a longer duration and additional floor work may be included to achieve a relaxed state of mind and body. Good class for those looking to relax and recharge for your day ahead. Use of props may vary between instructors.

In this class you will connect the breath with fundamental poses, building heat and increasing endurance, strength and flexibility. Whether it is flowing through sun salutations or lying still in shavasana, you will leave this class feeling inspired and rejuvenated with a boost to metabolism and circulation. Each class will end with deep relaxation in shavasana. A great class for all levels of fitness. Use of props may vary between instructors.

 

Strength Training Classes

A mixture of elements such as Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training movements, this energetic class will help target most major and minor muscle groups to strengthen and improve flexibility and posture. Use of ballet bars and small bands may be incorporated. Class structure may slightly differ with instructor. No previous dance experience needed.

BODYPUMP™ is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS™, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP™ gives you a total body workout that burns calories and builds muscle. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically-backed moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Focus on building strength as well as working on the mind and body connection. This class will incorporate bodyweight and light weight dumbbells, with high repetitions, to help build lean muscle and endurance. Target muscles that are otherwise forgotten and strengthen your posture. Work may be done both standing and on a mat. Exercises and mind and body connection may vary with instructors.

This class is a challenging and dynamic full body workout that targets all major muscle groups. Equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, barbells, and more will be used to challenge your strength and build lean muscle. All exercises can be modified to accommodate any fitness level.
