Challenge Course

Our challenge course is for groups looking to enhance team performance, practice community-building and develop leadership skills.

Challenge Course Open Climb Dates

The Challenge Course will be closed through the end of the Spring 2020 Semester.

Our facility includes a 62-foot Alpine Tower II, Team Development Course, and numerous portable elements. We are located in the Triangle Plaza, between Bates Residence Hall and the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. We have a Pavilion equipped with restroom facilities, running water and picnic tables.

Reserve the Course

U101 Reservations

All  U101 class reservations must be made through the U101 instructor's schedule center

Challenge Course programs are available for groups by reservation only. We'll design a course specifically for your group's goals and availability.

When To Schedule

Please make your reservation at least three weeks in advance. Fill out the Client Intake Assessment Form.

Group Size

The minimum group size is 8. The maximum is 30.

Program Options

Class Express Program (50-75 minutes)

Great for U101 or other class. We provide the same qualities of a short program condensed to fit into a class period.

Short Program (2 hours)

We'll work on the basics of team building with a fun program with activities to practice:

  • Problem Solving
  • Creative Thinking
  • Communication Skills

We can hold this program indoors at one of the gyms or outdoors in a field.

Half Day (3 – 4 hours)

We'll go through a progression of team-building activities that will culminate with one of our height activities, either climbing our Alpine Tower II or experiencing the Swing by Choice.

Full Day (5 – 6 hours)

We'll spend the first half of the day completing a series of team-building challenges that encourage positive group development. The second half of the day we'll move on to more challenging elements and includes one or both of our height activities: the Alpine Tower II and the Swing by Choice.
