University editorial style training introduces university communicators to the writing style used for all university communications and highlights common style errors to avoid.

The Office of Communications and Marketing conducts editorial style training for writers and other communicators throughout the university based on demand.  These sessions might include new employees or employees who would like a review of university and AP style.

Editorial Style Training

  • What is it? A general overview of the university writing style for staff members in some way responsible for written communications with university audiences.
  • Who should take it? Writers or content designers for university communications channels, as well as those who respond to communications requests. If you serve in a communications role, please sign up for training and let your unit communicator know that you are taking style training.
