Course Description
Bring your point and shoot or SLR camera to class as we discuss some of the most common
elements that help to create images that have impact. What is an fstop? Shutter
speed? ISO? Auto exposure vs. manual exposure? Learn the primary exposure controls
of the camera and how the play a vital role in creating a great image. Learn to "see
the light" and when to use a flash. Learn how to compose your images that make your
subject stand out. Basic photoshop elements will be discussed to further enhance
your images. This is a highly interactive class with photo assignments that will
be reviewed by all participants.
Scientifically - We learn more advanced concepts and techniques that will help you
use your camera more effectively to control and manipulate light.
Artistically - We recognize and learn the elements of art that make an image more
interesting. We strengthen your artistic ability by intentionally integrating these
artistic elements into your images. This is the same concept as a dancer who practices
movements repetitiously to develop muscle memory. Eventually, the photographer will
develop a personal artistic style naturally.
Important Information
- It is recommended that you take the Introduction to Digital Photography course before
enrolling in Intermediate Digital Photography. Otherwise, you are expected to have
a working knowledge of ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and your personal
camera's controls including manual exposure and aperture priority exposure modes.
- This course is limited to 24 students.
- Bring Point and Shoot and SLR cameras with manual and auto exposure modes only.
Course Fee - $120
