Full Certificate Program in Military Matters

Explore the history and current social conditions in all of the branches of the United States Military in this unique and compelling certificate program. When you complete all 10 courses, you will earn your USC Military Matters certificate consisting of 17.5 hours or 1.75 CEUs.

Curriculum

When you register in the full certificate program in Military Matters, you are enrolled in all ten courses:

  2. Risk and Resilience
  3. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder & Intervention
  4. Traumatic Brain Injury
  5. Women in the Military
  6. Special Populations
  7. Suicide and Suicide Prevention
  8. Military Disability
  9. Substance Use in the Military
  10. Military Families

I totally enjoyed the curriculum!  The information was so good.  It was convenient and well-delivered.

Online Self-Study Format

These courses are self-paced and 100% online. In order to participate, you will need access to a computer and a web browser to access Blackboard. Blackboard is an online software tool. Generally, recent versions of all the major browsers will work with Blackboard. Once you enroll in the course, we will send you log-in information and instructions.

You will have access to all ten courses for six months. If you do not complete the program by that time, your access will be terminated and you will need to register and pay for the program again.

At the end of each of the courses, you will be required to complete an assessment.  Once all ten are completed, you will earn 17.5 contact hours or 1.75 CEUs for the certificate program.

Registration and Payment Notes

If you plan to pay by check or purchase order, select "register by mail." Complete the form and return a printout with payment to: USC Continuing Education and Conferences, Close/Hipp Building at 1705 College Street, Suite 591, Columbia, SC 29208. Your seat is not guaranteed until payment is received.

We accept online payment via electronic check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express through MarketPlace, a secure electronic environment that simplifies business transactions with the university. Follow the MarketPlace prompts to complete payment. Your transaction is only complete when you receive an order number, which is your receipt of payment. Your seat is not guaranteed until payment is received and you receive an order number.

Once you have paid and are enrolled, you'll be emailed location and parking information for face-to-face programs or online instructions about one week before the program begins.
