Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Certification

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Certification is a hands-on learning program designed for professionals who have little or no experience with project management. This program is designed to help the student understand and pull together all the knowledge areas and processes of project management necessary to plan, execute, control and close successful projects, whether those projects are in construction, information technology, marketing or any other field.

Program Focus Areas

USC’s CAPM® Certification Program offers recognition to practitioners who are interested in, or just starting a career in project management, as well as project team members who wish to demonstrate their project management knowledge. This certification indicates knowledge of common practices used by an associate-level project manager as outlined in the CAPM® Examination Content Outline (ECO).

PMI aligns its process with certification industry best practices, such as those found within A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Seventh Edition. This program is designed to introduce you to the Project Management Certificate which is a gateway to earning your Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential.

This program has given me the confidence to take charge in leading various projects - it's definitely enhanced my company's productivity!                                - Yolanda Camacho, February 2026 participant

USC's Project Management Certificate program was essential in helping me qualify for and pass my PMP exam! The PMP study material can be repetitive and memorization-heavy, but instructor Tony Bryant made the class engaging, interactive, and fun. The opportunity to network with other PMP aspirants from across the state was a wonderful bonus that I wouldn't have had with another program. - Lindsey Rambow, July 2022 participant
