Adventures in Intro Mechanical Engineering

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a mechanical engineer? Spend the week with us, and you will explore the product lifecycle from design, development, manufacturing, and testing.

You will experience different facets of mechanical engineering from 3D printing, design using CAD software, fluid flow experiments, the vibration of a bridge, tensile testing of metals, and microscopic material characterization. At the end of this adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to create a team project and present your findings!

Robin James

Robin James is a second year Ph.D. candidate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of South Carolina. Robin works in the Laboratory of Active Materials and Smart Structures.

Sowmya Raghu

Sowmya Raghu is an instructor and research associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of South Carolina. Sowmya works in the Enhanced Heat Transfer Laboratory.
