Speech-Language Pathology: The High Demand

Where do people who struggle with communication, speech, sounds, language, voice, stuttering/fluency, and swallowing go when there are issues? To a Speech Pathologist!

Speech-language pathologists help individuals with brain injury, reading and learning difficulties, stuttering and other speaking impairments, feeding and swallowing problems, balance and hearing disorders, and more! You will get a first look into exploring how you can help these groups in this field! Through hands-on activities and simulations, you will learn about anatomy and physiology of the brain, ear, and vocal tract, and engage. You will explore how to use assistive technology to communicate, learn what it takes to produce sounds, and even analyze voice samples!

You will dive deep into investigating different swallowing techniques and discover the different food and drink textures for patients with swallowing difficulties. By the end of the day, you will have the basic knowledge on how to treat patients, complete progress evaluations, and implement treatment plans that will help patients! Are you ready to become a Speech-Language Pathologist?
