Summer 2026 FOOT Completers
The Summer 2026 Foundations of Online Teaching (FOOT) short course recently concluded, providing faculty with a four-week professional development experience designed to strengthen the design, development, and delivery of high-quality online courses. Led by CTE Instructional Designer Gloria Washington, the course supports faculty who are creating new online courses or enhancing existing ones.
Grounded in the High-Impact Design for Online Courses (HIDOC) framework, participants completed practical activities, received individualized feedback, and developed or refined their own online courses using evidence-based teaching strategies.
By completing FOOT, participants strengthened their understanding of effective online
teaching practices and gained practical tools to support student success. The course
also introduced faculty to the Quality Standards for Online Courses (QSOC), helping them prepare for course quality reviews and continuous course improvement.
