The Foster Student Learning Through Effective Teaching Course continues to serve as a professional learning resource for those who teach and support teaching across the university. To date, 119 participants from across the USC community have completed the course, including 90 new faculty members. The asynchronous, fully online course takes less than five hours to complete and may be taken in a self-paced format or as part of a facilitated cohort.
Facilitated cohorts were offered from October 27 - November 17, 2025 and December 1 - December 22, 2025. A third facilitated cohort is currently underway from January 26 - February 16.
Upcoming Opportunities to Participate
Faculty, staff, and graduate students who have not yet completed the course are encouraged to enroll in an upcoming option:
- Facilitated session: March 16 - April 6, 2026 (Register by March 12)
- Self-paced option: Available for flexible participation
Departmental and Unit-Based Cohorts Available
Departments and academic units may request a three-week, specially facilitated cohort for a defined group of participants. These cohorts can be scheduled to align with unit goals and timelines and may include faculty, staff, and graduate students who support teaching and learning.
Register for an upcoming session or contact Aisha Haynes (haynesa@mailbox.sc.edu) to explore cohort options.
