Ten faculty have been selected for the Provost’s AI Teaching Fellowship, a year-long initiative focused on advancing the use of generative artificial intelligence in teaching. Offered for the third time, the fellowship reflects continued interest in integrating AI into course design and delivery. The program is facilitated by Gloria Washington, CTE Instructional Designer.
Running from March 2026 through February 2027, the fellowship includes modules, workshops, and applied course design activities. Fellows examine topics such as student use of AI tools, assessment design, ethical considerations, and strategies for integration.
Throughout the program, fellows implement AI-supported strategies in their courses, including redesigning assignments, developing course policies, and aligning materials and assessments. Key deliverables include an AI-integrated syllabus and applied teaching activities.
The fellowship emphasizes practical application and measurable impact. Fellows evaluate the influence of AI on student learning and engagement and document outcomes as part of the program. The experience culminates in the GenAI Showcase in February 2027.
