ThisIsUSC is a storytelling event that highlights the diversity of backgrounds and experiences
in our community. By sharing individual stories, speakers provide insight on how their
identity has shaped their life.
The goal of ThisIsUSC is to celebrate the unique stories of members of our campus and surrounding communities,
while also exposing attendees to life experiences that they may not have seen or heard
of before. The exercise of storytelling allows people to gain insight on what makes
people who they are -- providing others the opportunity to hear the background stories
that formed an individual's views.
This event is in place to serve as an example of the type of activities and discourse
that can advance the diversity and inclusion of the University of South Carolina.
The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 in the Russell House Theater.
