The Division of Information Technology, in partnership with the Office of the University Registrar, is pleased to introduce a new resource designed to support data-informed, academic planning: the Classroom Utilization Dashboards.
What is it
Developed through a collaborative effort between Analytics & Data Governance (DoIT) and registrars across all USC campuses, these dashboards—now available in CarolinaAnalytics—offer campus leaders clear, actionable insights into how classroom spaces are being used throughout the academic year. Data is updated daily, ensuring a reliable foundation for operational decisions.
The big picture
This tool empowers academic units to make more efficient scheduling decisions, identify underutilized space and support long-term infrastructure and resource planning by shows patterns in classroom usage by time and location.
“These dashboards represent a bold step toward a smarter, more adaptive university—where data drives innovation and every classroom becomes an opportunity to optimize learning,” said Caroline Maulana, USC Interim Chief Data Officer.
