Program Description:
This is a Maymester course that will focus on communicating about the effects of climate change on the Alps. Students will form production teams to create short documentaries (~2-5 minutes) about different aspects of La Mer de Glace glacier in Chamonix, France and how it has been affected by climate change. There will be many academic and cultural excursions including visits to La Mer de Glace, the UN Library & Archives, the Cinémathèque Suisse, the Municipal Archives of Chamonix, the Centre for Research on Altitude Ecosystems, among others.
