Fellowship Foundations

Join the national fellowships team to explore key skills for personal and professional success. Open to first- and second-year students of all majors and backgrounds.

Discover how you can make the most of your time on campus, whether your goal is to travel the world, engage in cutting-edge research, make a difference in your community or get a jumpstart on your career.

You will also meet Fellowship Ambassadors who can share about their fellowship experiences and provide additional guidance tailored to your interests. Snacks will be provided at all sessions.

Fridays in February | 1:15-2:45 p.m. | Honors Residence Hall, B110

Weekly topics will include:

  • Faculty relationships & navigating professional social events: Learn directly from faculty about building valuable relationships that can be beneficial beyond the classroom; polish your elevator pitch; and practice networking in our opening session’s mixer.
  • Leadership & entrepreneurship: Leadership is more than a specific role on campus. We'll explore what leadership really means and how it relates to you. Then, we’ll discuss how an entrepreneurial mindset can help you lead yourself toward goals.
  • Research & resilience: Research is for every discipline, not just STEM majors! Learn how you can pursue your interests by asking questions and seeking answers. We’ll also discuss the importance of resilience, working through failure and keeping plans flexible.
  • National fellowships: Discover how fellowships can open the door to your future adventures, as well as the resources available to you at USC. Connect with fellowships advisors and students who have earned national fellowships—engage in the process!

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
