This scholarship provides one year of support to undergraduate seniors who are pursuing degrees in the atmospheric or related sciences and are studying at accredited U.S. institutions at the time of the award.
Deadlines are typically in April, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.
Applicants must be entering their final year of undergraduate study for the year of funding and provide evidence of acceptance as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. institution at the time of the award. AMS encourages applications from women, minorities, and disabled students who are traditionally underrepresented in the atmospheric and related oceanic sciences.
Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $10,000.

Supports eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission. Up to $19,000 for academic expenses (stipend of $9500 each year), as well as a 10-week full-time paid summer internship with a NOAA facility (valued at $7000).
This fellowship provides scholarships, useful resources, and unique opportunities to outstanding students looking to pursue graduate education in the atmospheric or related sciences. Fellowship recipients will receive a $25,000 stipend for a nine-month period in the academic year and partial travel support to attend the AMS Annual Meeting.
This is a student paper contest that provides travel support and stipend for undergraduate students interested in the atmospheric sciences. The recipient will be awarded one-year stipend of $1,000 and partial travel support to the AMS Annual Meeting.
