Paid summer internship in NASA-related research, including travel costs for attending the opening summit and closing finale for all NASA SCSGC participants.
This program, aimed at undergraduate and graduate students attending colleges and universities in South Carolina, encourages student participation in order to meet the growing need by NASA for skilled science and engineering workers. The Academy is a ten-week summer program which includes a 9-week research opportunity with faculty at colleges throughout South Carolina that has direct relevance to NASA mission areas.
Students will receive an $8,000 ($7,500 + $500 housing) stipend for their participation in the Palmetto Academy program.

Provides supplemental funds for STEM PhD students to conduct part of their thesis research at a host DOE laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for 3-12 consecutive months. Monthly stipend of up to $3,600 and travel reimbursement up to $2,000
Award in support of outreach efforts to engage younger students with NASA-related STEM research. Research stipend of up to $6,000.
