About this Fellowship
Two-year fellowship to promote global food and nutrition security through learning and hands-on work.
Leland fellows are placed with a host organization (NGO or multilateral organization) that partners with the fellowship sponsor, the Congressional Hunger Center. You will spend one year in the host organization's headquarters office or Washington DC, and another year with the host organization in the global south.
Host organizations are matched with you based upon your stated professional goals and the needs of the host organization.
Applications typically open on Oct. 1 with rolling applications accepted until December 31. The program only accepts applications in even years (e.g., 2026, 2028) for an odd year program start (e.g., 2027, 2029). Check the Hunger Center website for the most accurate information and deadlines.
Award Value
Cost-of-living stipend based on location, professional development funds, travel to and from placement in the global south, travel and lodging for trainings.
