College Panhellenic Association

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is the umbrella group for 26 (inter)national organizations, 13 of which have chapters on South Carolina’s campus. The purpose of NPC is to be the “premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience.” At South Carolina, the College Panhellenic Association (CPA) is the subset campus organization that supports the Panhellenic chapters on campus. The College Panhellenic Association has elected executive members to act as liaisons between the university and chapter members to create legislation, support recruitment of members, promote academic excellence, create educational programming, and more.

The council meets bi-weekly with one representative from each Panhellenic chapter to collaborate and have open discussion about current issues. Meetings are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday’s.

Junior delegate meetings occur weekly with a new member representing each Panhellenic chapter to coordinate programs for the newest members of the community.

Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks

In 2014, the College Panhellenic Association adopted Circle of Sisterhood as a philanthropic organization to support. The mission of Circle of Sisterhood is to leverage the collective influence of sorority women to raise financial resources for entities around the world that are removing educational barriers for girls and women facing poverty and oppression.

Since committing to support Circle of Sisterhood, the Panhellenic sorority community has sponsored the building of two new schools in areas where educational resources are limited. In 2015, USC women traveled to Likia Arriba, a village in Nicaragua to assist with the construction of the first school. In December 2018, another group of women traveled to Touba Ndiene, a city in Senegal for a second school build sponsored by the USC College Panhellenic Association.

To learn more about this partnership or for ways to support Circle of Sisterhood, contact the committee or follow them on social media.
