The South Carolina Student Hazing Prevention Summit will be hosted March 22, 2026 at the USC Columbia campus. This research-based conference will have curriculum designed and facilitated by Dr. Lori Hart. The program will give participants a solid understanding of hazing prevention, help strengthen their commitment and ability to stop hazing, and explore proven strategies that actually work on campus. It will also cover how policies play a role, how hazing connects to other college health issues, and how to plan effective, research-based approaches to prevent hazing overall.
Registration will close March 8, 2026 or when we meet event capacity. The program is FREE to students at any higher education institution in the state of South Carolina.
While there is not a registration fee, a fee may be assessed to individuals who register
but cancel after March 8th or do not attend and fully participate. The fee assessed
will cover the cost of educational supplies, food, and any additional prepared materials.

The Hazing Prevention Summit is open to all students of higher education institutions in the state of South Carolina. We encourage campuses to send student leaders from multiple areas who are excited to collaborate and help shape a university-wide approach.
This program is designed for student leaders in areas such as fraternity/sorority life, student government, residence hall association, judicial councils, band, athletics, and peer educators. Any student interested in making steps to reduce and eliminate hazing on their campus is invited to attend!
The South Carolina Student Hazing Prevention Summit schedule includes a keynote, educational sessions, and a time for networking. Students will have the opportunity to network with peers from other higher education institutions in South Carolina, USC staff, researchers, and facilitators. Sessions are strategically designed for attendees to engage with other students from their own institution to create a network of hazing prevention strategies as well as brainstorm with peers from other schools.
In addition, workshops will explain the history and impact of the Tucker Hipps Transparency Act and the Stop Campus Hazing Act. Students will understand how prevention, accountability, and a collaborative approach can combat hazing.
We're excited to partner with Dr. Lori Hart who will provide curriculum and facilitation throughout the Hazing Prevention Summit.
