Understanding that one of the best ways to be a global university is to have faculty who are internationally recognized as experts in their fields, Global Carolina is happy to announce its Spring 2020 call for faculty international travel grants. Faculty applying for such grants are expected to spread the University of South Carolina’s reputation globally while presenting significant, high-impact research (as first author or equivalent) or making other prestigious contributions to their respective field at major international meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and performances. The maximum grant is up to $1,000 and must be matched by the awardee’s unit.
Proposals will be awarded by the Office of the Provost’s International Advisory Committee, chaired by the Director of Global Carolina. A complete application containing a brief abstract or proposal should be submitted, along with a proposed budget and written confirmation of unit matching funds. Details are provided in the FAQs.
Faculty receiving these grants must use them within one year of receipt and must submit a brief report on the research presented after the travel is completed (maximum 500 words) and include a copy of the program from the conference at which their work was presented. The reimbursement process is further detailed in the FAQs.
Applications for the Spring 2020 round will be due by Feb. 14, 2020. Please send your complete application to Amanda Gay at email@example.com.
