and staff this online training to show you the many ways you can enrich the college
experience of a first-generation student.

Become a first-gen mentor for Fall 2025!
Join us in building a community of belonging and success at USC—because your guidance as a first-gen mentor can inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
What you can expect as a mentor...
Your commitment to your mentee takes place once a week for at least one hour over six weeks (September 15-October 27). Here are the steps you'll take to become a mentor:
- Complete the mentor interest form by August 15!
- Attend orientation - Once you have submitted the interest form you will be emailed a link to sign up for orientation.
- Join us at the Fall 2025 First-Gen Mentor Program Kick-off on September 3 at 6:30 PM. Mentors and mentees will come together to learn more about the program and will see how to create a profile and navigate Mentorship Hub.
- Meet with your assigned student mentee(s) for at least 1 hour weekly during the 6-week program (in-person or virtually).
Complete the mentor interest form by Aug. 15
