Introduction to Beverage Management

This course is designed to enhance your academic, personal, and professional knowledge of the beverage industry. Through various forms of instruction, you will learn the basics of the beverage industry, become certified in responsible alcohol service (i.e., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol), evaluate different beverage menus, and design an efficient bar set up. Additionally, you will learn how to evaluate common financial reports and develop security protocols. This class also serves as a pre-requisite for several of the other beverage management courses offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

  • Design functional, full-service bar set up
  • Create effective marketing plans for beverage operations
  • Interperate financial statements and identify cost controls
  • Implement proper security protocols for both personnel and products
