Student Experience & Post-Graduate Success Objectives

  • Create a supportive and enriching residential experience for students through intentional programming aimed at fostering personal growth, community building, and academic success.

  • Provide a welcoming and informative introduction to on-campus housing that facilitates a smooth transition into residential and college life.

  • Cultivate well-maintained residence halls that prioritize the comfort, care, and satisfaction of both students and staff through effective facilities management and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain housing processes that foster a supportive community outside of the residence hall that works with departmental and university partners to connect students to resources.

  • Foster genuine relationships through knowing, connecting, and empowering the Carolina community.

  • Build a vibrant community in residence halls that focus on caring and authentic relationships.

  • Maintain resources to provide a high-quality residential environment for both students and employees.

  • Prioritize housing opportunities for underrepresented populations and staff to create an impactful community experience that fosters inclusivity, equity, and support.

  • Prioritize connecting and empowering students in the residence halls while introducing and supporting divisional and institutional services to support student’s holistic well-being and academic success.

  • Invest in technology and software solutions to enhance and expand business operations within residential community and housing services.

  • Create online and in-person processes that meet the needs of students regardless of ability or experience.

  • Establish unified, comprehensive, and effective communication strategies to align residential communities and housing services with institutional goals and priorities.

  • Establish processes that enable the pursuit, acquisition and retention of a diverse and knowledgeable work force that are industry leaders in facilitating the student experience.

  • Regularly evaluate practices and staffing within residential life and housing services and update them as trends and best practices dictate to ensure alignment with evolving needs and industry standards.

  • Create and maintain processes within residence life and housing services that require low maintenance and change, aiming to establish standard procedures and clear paths to processes.
