Career Academy for Students with Disabilities

Join us for a great opportunity to Power Up your future career opportunities! Attend one of the 4-day, 3-night Career Academy for Students with Disabilities pre-transitional training summer sessions to enhance your power to choose, prepare for, and ultimately find work in areas that match your talent, skills, and abilities. Workshops will focus on preparing you for work including exploring career choices, learning work place readiness skills, and visiting work-sites.

New for 2020 and building on the powerful impact of PowerUP 2019, our new PowerUP 2.0 session will allow students to dive deeper, featuring more intensive exploration of career areas, refinement of job search and application skills, enhancement of interviewing skills, and comprehensive job shadowing. PowerUP 2.0 is open to those students who attended PowerUP 2019 or have been designated a candidate by the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department.

All sessions will be held at the University of South Carolina Columbia campus, and participants will stay overnight in one of the University’s accessible residence halls.
