Room Checkout

Following the procedures while checking out of your residence hall will help you avoid additional charges for cleaning, lock replacement, damages and more.

Checkout Instructions

While you have the choice between standard and express checkouts, express checkouts should be a last resort. If you have questions about any damage responsibilities, you will want to make sure to follow the standard checkout steps.

Checkout Steps

This checkout option is only available between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

  1. Sign up with your RM for a checkout appointment.
Do so at least 24 hours in advance, and be on time for your appointment to avoid an improper checkout charge.

  2. Remove your belongings and clean your room thoroughly.
Do this before your appointment time with your RM.

  3. Meet your RM at your appointment time to inspect your room.
You will also complete the Apartment/Room Condition Report.

  4. Lock the room door and return your key to your RM.
If you lost your key, tell your RM. If you do not return your key, you will be charged a lock fee, determined by your building.
