University Check List

Important Must Do's Before Move In

Your semester room fee is included on the same bill as your academic fees.  Your bill will be posted online on your my.sc.edu account.  Bills are posted after you have registered for classes.  Payment is due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2020.  Housing fees must be paid before moving into your residence hall.

If you’re planning to bring a car to campus, you’ll need to purchase a permit from Parking Services. Unless otherwise specified, the permit does not guarantee a parking space. Learn more about parking on campus at sc.edu/vmps/park.html or call the Parking Services Office at 803-777-5160

First year students (non-transfers) entering the University and
living in University Housing are required to purchase a minimum
fourteen (14) meal plan for two semesters. Higher meal plan
participation may be required for certain Residence Halls. First year
students do have the option of choosing a higher meal plan.

If you need to ship belongings to campus for move-in, please make sure they arrive no earlier than August 3, 2020.

Packages must be addressed as follows:
John Doe
UofSC Box (5 digit mailbox number)
1400 Greene St. Columbia, SC 29225-0112

June 15: Mailbox number and mailing address available at my.sc.edu. Do Not use “P.O.” in your mailing address as these are campus mailboxes, and not US Postal Service P.O. Boxes. Please note that USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL will not deliver mail addressed to a residence hall.

August 3: Student Mail Center will begin accepting parcels for fall term.
August 9: Early arrivals may begin picking up packages.

Package arrival notifications are auto-generated by our internal package tracking system. Please disregard any “Final Package Notification” you may receive prior to arrival on campus for Move-In.

August 16: Fall mail service for student mailboxes begins. Box combinations will also be available at my.sc.edu.

Don’t forget to register with the Student Disability Resource Center. If needed, the Student Disability Resource Center provides disability-related accommodations.
