International Scholars

The University of South Carolina extends its reach well beyond our state lines and beyond our national borders to touch every corner of the globe.

Our global impact, in part, comes from the international scholars who join our faculty to conduct groundbreaking research or to serve as visiting faculty. It also comes from members of the university community who travel abroad to work or conduct research in other countries.

Coming to work for the university and possibly establishing temporary or permanent residency in the United States can be a difficult and lengthy process. Fortunately, our Office for International Scholars (OIS) has a team of dedicated staff who support the departments and candidates throughout the eight system campus ensuring that the visa process is managed properly.

If you are an incoming international faculty member or research scholar, please contact our office to schedule your intake and orientation session as soon as possible.
