COVID-19 Testing

If you are not yet fully vaccinated, getting tested for COVID-19 helps keep our campus community, as well as our city, safer.

Current Testing Guidelines

Faculty and staff must provide proof of one of the following by Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021:

  • a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test conducted between Aug. 8 to Aug. 18
  • proof of a prior positive COVID-19 infection within the last 90 days
  • a completed COVID-19 vaccination record

Those who are not yet fully vaccinated and who will regularly be on campus during the fall months are strongly encouraged to be tested at least once per month.

The university will continue to offer voluntary free testing to faculty and staff throughout the fall semester. Testing is also available at multiple locations throughout the state.

Information about the testing requirements are available on the Current COVID-19 Guidelines page.

Testing sites will be open on campus to support faculty and staff testing. On campus tests are provided at no cost to employees. The testing schedule is posted weekly by University Health Services.

Employees may obtain their test from an off-campus provider, but they must upload their own test results into MyHealthSpace

Testing is also expected for employees or affiliates who will be coming to campus to use campus services, even if they are not working on campus.

Uploading Test Results

If you were tested at a non-university location, please upload your test result to MyHealthSpace. Login using your UofSC username and password and then on the next screen your date of birth.  Click on Medical Clearances and then locate COVID Return Test  and click the Green Update button. Attach a copy of your results under COVID-19 Test Results Upload and complete the date and the result in the appropriate category (Antibody test, PCR test, or Rapid Antigen test). Click Done.

Please call the Coronavirus Phone Bank at 803-576-8511 to report any technical issues or concerns regarding uploading test results to MyHealthSpace.

Get Vaccinated

University Health Services will provide appointments for students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated. We highly encourage you to make an appointment to get vaccinated even if you have already had COVID-19. If you are off campus, see where you can get vaccinated in your community.

FAQ for Return Testing Summer 2021

Faculty and Staff who have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine may submit documentation of vaccination in place of the diagnostic test.
