As the Senior Director of Institutional Research and Analytics (IRA), Sammara brings over 15 years of dedicated experience in higher education data analytics to the OIRAA team. With a Master of Science in Research Administration from Central Michigan University, Sammara specializes in transforming complex institutional data into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and advance key organizational priorities.
Throughout her career, Sammara has cultivated a robust expertise in leveraging data and technology to enhance student success and optimize the overall student experience. She is passionate about empowering end-users to make informed, data-driven decisions and efficiently utilize resources. Sammara firmly believes that effective data gathering and thorough interpretation are essential for fostering awareness and accountability across all levels of an institution.
Sammara's extensive analytical background includes collaborating closely with university leadership, deans, and department chairs to inform policy, improve operational efficiencies, and address specific challenges. Her methodologies span quantitative analysis (using tools like SAS and SQL), qualitative research, and the synthesis of disparate data sources to uncover patterns and trends in areas such as enrollment management, student retention, and resource allocation.
In her role, Sammara provides critical decision support to faculty and staff across a broad spectrum of areas, including student admissions, enrollment trends, factors influencing persistence, and comprehensive student outcomes.
