As the Assistant Director of General Education Assessment, Alexandra is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient assessment of the Carolina Core curriculum in partnership with the university’s academic departments. In this role she strives to enhance the quality of general education through systematic assessment and advocacy for continuous improvement.
A graduate of the university’s Emerging Leaders Program, Alexandra has previous professional experience at USC in enrollment management, advising, and academic program planning. She is currently earning a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research from USC and has received a SPARC grant to fund her dissertation research on the self-efficacy rates of bereaved students. Alexandra has served as an adjunct faculty member, instructed multiple sections of EDPY 401 (Learners and Diversity in Learning) and University 101, won the award for Exemplary Service to the Carolina Community, and been named Outstanding Faculty Advisor of the Year by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Beyond the Horseshoe gates, Alexandra is a graduate of the United Way’s Blueprint for Leadership program and has chaired committees for the Junior League of Columbia.
Alexandra’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Elon University, a Master’s in Higher Education Administration, and an Ed.S. in Counseling from the University of South Carolina.
