Background

Bachelors in Social Work with a minor in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi, India.

Akanksha joined the International Student Services (ISS) office in 2021 as a social work intern. Since then, she has transitioned into her role as a graduate assistant for the office. 

Akanksha is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work with a health and mental health specialization from the College of Social Work, University of South Carolina. Akanksha is also an intern at Prisma Hospital and a SCAHEC scholar for Mid Carolina AHEC. 

Her work at ISS is informed by her own experience of being an international student from India and her career as a social worker. She primarily works for the Thinking Globally program but is always ready to help you with your internationalization needs. 

Akanksha's interests lie at the intersection of immigration, healthcare, and financial security. She would like to pursue a career that offers her an opportunity to work toward public policy development in the healthcare field. In her free time, you will find Akanksha reading or looking for dogs to pet. She hopes to complete her goal of reading 120 books this year.
