Student Behavior

Our instructors play an essential role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our students. If you sense trouble with a student, reach out to the appropriate office to get help.

Know the Creed

Both inside and out of the classroom, the Carolinian Creed obligates all members of the university community to a code of civilized behavior.

Academic Dishonesty

All forms of academic dishonesty are prohibited at the University of South Carolina.

If you suspect a student has violated the code for academic dishonesty, you can file an Incident Report with the Office of Academic Integrity to have them review the incident. You can also visit their site for for help handling academic dishonesty in your classroom and to see policies governing student conduct.

Student Misconduct

The Office of Student Conduct provides instructor guidelines for student misconduct and disruptive activity.

If your student's disruptive behavior is more serious and includes mental health or safety issues, you may need to refer them to the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).

Student Health Services

The Center for Health and Well-Being provides comprehensive primary healthcare, mental health services, disease prevention, wellness programs, and violence prevention services.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
