BSD Park & Ride ($40 per year)
A special Bull St. District Park & Ride permit will be available for $40 for the academic year for commuting students, faculty and staff only. Permit holders will only be able to park in the lot at 2700 Colonial Drive. Shuttles dedicated to that lot leave every 20 minutes and drop off on Pendleton St. on either end of the Horseshoe from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday only. The BSD Park & Ride permit does not allow permit holders to park in any other lots. More information here
General Parking ($110 per year)
The university distributes three types of general parking permits to students including Resident Undergraduate Students (S), Graduate Students (GS) and Commuting Undergraduate Students (CS) .
Depending on your permit designation, you are restricted to specific parking areas around campus.
Resident Undergraduate Permits (S)
- Park in Student (S) and Any Decal (AD) lots
Graduate Student Permits (GS)
- Park in Grad Student (GS), Student (S) and Any Decal (AD) lots
Commuting Undergraduate Students (CS)
- Park in Any Decal (AD) lots
* Overnight parking is not allowed in certain AD lots. Please see garages and lots for details on each parking area.
* Vehicles with any student permit, including the Greek Village permit, may also park on the top three levels of the Athletic Village Garage. No overnight parking is allowed in the garage.
After Hours Parking
Any vehicles bearing a valid university permit may park in areas designated “Faculty/Staff” between 5 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. Friday until 7:30 a.m. Monday with one area exception.
Event Parking in the Arena District
Carolina Coliseum and Colonial Life Arena lots GS4, AD16,N2,FS4 and FS11 are sometimes used for event parking. During events, permit parking may be restricted in the above noted lots.
Students and faculty scheduled for evening classes may be able to get a special permit to park at these lots during events. This permit is available if you have evening class in the following buildings:
- Carolina Coliseum
- School of Music
- Koger Center for the Arts
- Arnold School of Public Health
- Darla Moore School of Business
- You must have a valid USC permit, a printed copy of your class schedule and a picture ID to get this permit. Please contact your department for more information.
Garage permits are available to students, faculty or staff members on a first-come, first-served basis.
You will be notified when applications for the academic school year become available.
Garage permits are available by individual semesters or for both fall and spring semesters.
Greek Village permits are available to students who live in the Greek Village and can verify their residence through the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at firstname.lastname@example.org.
GV permit holders may park in the Greek Village lot and the Any Decal (AD) lots; however there is no overnight parking allowed in certain AD lots. Pease see garages and lots for details on each parking area.
University of South Carolina permits are required to park in USC accessible spaces in USC permitted parking lots. The university's accessible parking permits are available to students and faculty/staff members of the university and are valid on university property only.
USC accessible permits are not valid in spaces designated “reserved,” “state vehicle” or “service vehicle.”
A statement from your medical doctor or the student health center is required describing your diagnosis and the amount of time you'll need the permit. If a doctor's statement is not immediately available, we can issue temporary permits for five school days.
Permits are issued for as long as your doctor's statement describes. Charges are $10 a week or $110 for a year.
Park anytime in accessible surface lot spaces on campus. Parking in accessible spaces on city streets requires a permit or license tag from a state department of motor vehicles.
Parking in a accessible garage space requires a permit for that specific garage along with your accessible permit.
Paid hourly accessible parking is available in the Bull Street garage, Horizon garage and Discovery garage . A state-issued placard/license tag or USC accessible permit is required.
Park in designated MC areas.
Motorcycles and mopeds may not park in automobile spaces, at meters or at bicycle racks.
Please do not store your motorcycle or moped inside of a building on campus, or it will be impounded.

Temporary surface lot permits are available based on your status. Temporary permits must be purchased in the Parking office.
