A More Beautiful Question
The official book of USCreativity is A More Beautiful Question, by Warren Berger. This powerful publication suggests that asking better questions leads to breakthrough ideas, and then provides a variety of strategies doing just that.
We encourage all USC students, faculty, and staff to enjoy this quick-read book, considering which intriguing questions might lead to powerful revelations when considering:
- Your life and career
- Your department and school
- University of South Carolina
- Columbia, SC
- Social challenges
- And a host of other items...
A More Beautiful Question is required reading for the 5000+ freshman enrolled in First Year Reading Experience, AKA University 101.

Berger will be a featured USCreativity speaker on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Koger Center.
Who designed the USC cover?
Every year, an advanced design class in the School of Visual Art and Design at USC is challenged with creating a new cover for the first-year reading book. They present their designs to classmates and the FYRE committee, who deliberates and chooses the best entry. That becomes the cover of the book given to all first-year students. This year’s winner was Lindsey Lane, a student in the School of Visual Art and Design.
