The University of South Carolina was honored to host the South Carolina Research Administration Conference in partnership with Clemson University, Claflin University and the College of Charleston. The broader initiative is part of a collaboration between USC’s Strategic Training in Research Innovation and Administrative Excellence (STRIVE) Program and REACH-SC, an NSF-funded project to expand South Carolina’s research capacity.
The conference is the first of its kind in South Carolina, providing an opportunity for research administration professionals across the state to gather to learn from their colleagues and build their professional networks. This year’s conference offered panels, keynotes and breakout sessions on topics including AI, institutional responses to the federal research landscape and growing research capacity. Research administration professionals also shared their expertise on specific areas of the field such as export controls, pre- and post-award processes, budgeting and compliance.
We are proud to host the inaugural conference and place the University of South Carolina on the map as a site of professional growth opportunities for research administration staff across the state, welcoming more than 180 guests from USC, other participating colleges and universities and several corporate partners.
We are excited to see you all next year!
