Rex Tolliver, Vice President for Student Affairs and Academic Support has appointed Stacy Fritz, Ph.D., PT to the role of Chief Health Officer and Associate Vice President of Student Health and Well-Being, effective Dec.2. In this role, Fritz will provide strategic leadership and direction for Student Health and Well-Being and its operating units, including Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Campus Recreation, Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, Healthy Campus Initiatives and Employee Well-Being. An accomplished researcher, mentor and health professional, her visionary leadership will provide an enhanced wellness experience for the student population through collaboration and action.
“I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Fritz to the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. Her extensive background in public health, deep understanding of the USC community, and proven success in building partnerships will provide our students with a holistic approach to wellbeing to enhance their personal and academic success,” said Tolliver.
Fritz currently serves at the Chief of Staff for President Michael Amiridis. In her role, she serves as the primary liaison between the president for internal and external matters. Providing advice and organization to the president, her work includes the chaperoning of presidential initiatives and strategic planning. Additionally, Dr. Fritz serves on several committees and working groups, including the president’s cabinet. She is a professor at the USC Arnold School of Public Health, Department of Exercise Science, Physical Therapy Program.

Fritz holds several prestigious awards and honors, including her 2024 induction to the University of Kentucky's College of Health Sciences Hall of Fame, a Golden Synapse Award for the most outstanding article published in the 2022 Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy and as a finalist for the Michael J. Mungo Graduate Teaching Award in 2020.
Fritz earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky and Ph.D. in rehabilitation sciences from the University of Florida.
