Peer Leader Testimonials

"I improved my own essay writing abilities, but most importantly, I learned to think on my feet, collaborate with a student who perhaps has different goals for their paper than I do, and utilize time effectively. I also feel very good about my ability now to bridge the gap between peer and authority, which is very important for managing others." ~Peer Writing Tutor

"Not only was I able to stay current with materials I had previously learned, but I was also able to learn more about the way different people work, different learning styles, and adapting myself to working with people who have different learning styles.” ~Peer Tutor

“I’ve gained leadership skills, I’ve learned perseverance, I’ve learned how to balance and manage my time better, I’ve learned how to improvise and just go with it when things don’t go as expected.” ~SI Leader

“I really enjoy this program and it has been one of my favorite experiences to be a part of at the University of South Carolina.” ~Peer Tutor

“I think this program is great for leader's personal and professional development as well as helping students in their academic needs.” ~SI Leader

"It's an amazing experience! I made life-long friendships with my coworkers while working in the lab, and learned more about myself as an educator than I would have without this position. It has made me grow and appreciate my future career field more than I initially would have guessed. I recommend it to anyone who loves reading and writing, helping people, and teaching." ~Peer Writing Tutor
