Meet the Academic Engagement Peer Consultants (AEPC's)

What is an AEPC? These are third, fourth or above year students who have been trained to help students in their sophomore and junior years. Please make a consultation with them to chat about what is happening in the second or third year!

Emily Barbare

Emily is a senior studying Retailing with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising. While at USC, Emily has been involved in student organizations such as Tau Sigma, USC Fashion Board, and the National Retail Federation. Emily has also gained leadership experience from her two internship experiences and her role as a Peer Leader in the Student Success Center.

Mei Gollon

Mei is a junior SSC Peer Leader from Greenville, South Carolina. She is an Honors student studying Information Science and has a minor in Japanese. Mei has been involved in Book Club and Cocky's Canine PAALS. She currently serves as an Ambassador for the College of Information and Communications. Outside of USC, she has been involved with an independent marching percussion organization based in Pickens, SC. Over the summer, she studied abroad in Japan and remained there for a month after the program!

Emmy is a junior SSC Peer Leader from the Jersey Shore. She is studying public health and business administration. While at USC, Emmy has been involved in Alpha Delta Pi sorority as well as Tau Sigma National Honors Society. Outside of USC, you can find her at the Jersey Shore beaches where she has been a lifeguard for the past 6 summers.

Ally is a senior SSC Peer Leader from the suburbs of Chicago. She is majoring in psychology with a double minor in anthropology and business administration. Throughout her time here at USC, she has been involved in archaeological field work abroad, Greek life, Garnet Circle, Sailing Club, Book Club, Holistic Art of Living, WUSC, choir and musical theater, and Psi Chi International Psychology Honors Society while pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD) in global learning and is on track for graduate school in the future. Passionate about reading, music, cooking, and making memories, Ally can't wait to help you have the best college experience possible!

Maddy Lawson

Maddy is a senior SSC Peer Leader from Bamberg, South Carolina. She is studying psychology and double minoring in Spanish and counselor education. At USC, Maddy is involved in Gamecock Entertainment through Carolina Productions as the Vice President of External Affairs and Dance Marathon as a Hero. Outside of her studies, Maddy loves to paint old records and listen to her favorite songs.

Alayna Mulligan

Alayna is a senior SSC Peer Leader from Charleston, SC. She is studying Elementary Education and Counseling Education. While at USC, Alayna has been involved in the Teaching Fellows program and is currently serving as president. Beyond this, Alayna has served as a U101 Peer Leader and is pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction in Professional and Civic Engagement. Outside of USC, Alayna also works at a local elementary school as a substitute teacher and aftercare teacher.

Kayla Simmons

Kayla is a junior Peer Leader from Columbia, SC. She is studying Biological Sciences while on the Pre-PA route. While at USC, she has been involved in Alpha Epsilon Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, Carolina Melanin & Movement, and the Black Medical Student Association. She currently serves as President of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students and the Association of Transfer Students, while also serving as a U101 Peer Leader. Outside of USC, she works as an Emergency Medical Technician and volunteers at the Free Medical Clinic.
