Resources for Veterans
Veterans have access to all Student Success Center services, as well as the veterans-only services listed below:
The lounge is a place for any military-affiliated student to relax between classes, grab a bite to eat and study with other student veterans. It is open to both undergraduate and graduate students affiliated with the military.
Hours
Sunday: 4 – 9 p.m.
Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: Closed
The Student Veterans Association (SVA) at the University of South Carolina serves to recognize the contributions of undergraduate student veterans by honoring them and their families and supporting them during their transition into civilian and university life.
We partner with and promote outside veteran organizations that provide support to active military personnel, veterans and their families.
There are no membership dues. It is open to undergraduate student veterans, as well as active service members and their families.

Faculty and Staff Green Zone Training
This program trains participating faculty and staff at the university on the unique issues faced by military-affiliated students and identifies resources available to assist them.
Participants who complete the training program will receive a Green Zone Allie postcard to display in their office.
Training sessions take place at 1600 Hampton St., Suite 101.
Student Green Zone Training
This training teaches our students how to become more familiar with how to engage and support their peers who are student veterans, service connected students, and active service members.
Training sessions take place at the Student Success Center, Mezzanine Level of the Thomas Cooper Library.
The Veterans Student Services Advisory Committee consists of participants from key departments from the university who gather information relative to the interests and needs of current or prospective veteran students and makes recommendations for improving services related to veteran students at the University of South Carolina.
