An estimation of a student's cost of living is made and revised yearly by the Norwegian Immigration Directorate (UDI). Their recommendation is that you need NOK 11 ,000 a month to cover your expenses as a student in Norway. Part-time work opportunities are available for non-EU students for up to 20 hours/week. Student life in Oslo is more affordable than in many other European cities. You will find student discounts as well for public transportation, cultural events, and more to make your transition to living in Norway easier.
Exchange students choose courses from the English taught BBA as well as English taught elective courses. A full semester workload is 30 ECTS credits and each course is equal to 7.5 ECTS. For a full semester workload, Bachelor students must choose 4 courses. Bachelor students are not allowed to enroll in Master level courses.

Extra-curricular activities are coordinated through student organizations and international students are encouraged to join a variety of associations, clubs and other opportunities on campus.
Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Study Abroad Office for more details.
BI guarantees off-campus housing to all international students who apply correctly within the deadline. Application fee of NOK 1000 applies to all. All rooms are furnished for semester international students.
Students will arrive to BI in early January for an orientation and courses will be in session from January through June. The exact start and end dates will vary slightly from year to year.
Orientation will cover such topics as campus life, health care, safety and housing and will be held within the first few days you arrive.
All student staying in Norway for more than 3 months must register with the Norwegian Immigration Authorities. The procedures differ according to the nationality of the student. Citizens of non-EU/EEA countries must apply for a study permit (and entry visa, if applicable) before coming to Norway. It is strongly recommend that students apply for their study permit as soon as the offer of admission is received from BI. The process can take up to eight weeks.
