UofSC's International Business exchange program at ESADE is designed to expose American students to Spanish life and culture and international business practices. ESADE is known as the #1 business school in Spain. The school has unique methodology that combines start-up projects, case studies, and team-based projects to help students gain academic proficiency. The program is located in Barcelona at the Sant Lugat campus. There are many buses that lead directly from the city center of Barcelona to campus, and this takes about 35 minutes.

Category: 2, students must have successfully completed at least 1 or more 300-level (or higher) courses in Spanish, or demonstrate evidence of equivalent capability

Requirements: junior standing; International Business major

Students pay in-state tuition and fees to USC. Students should expect to pay approximately 450 - 800€ per month on accommodation, 200-300 euros on meals/groceries, and 60 euros a month on transportation. Entertainment costs will vary by student.

Students can take a diverse array of courses in English and Spanish. Exams are usually on the last day of class and are mostly written, but sometimes students may encounter an oral exam or take-home assignments. Projects may also be required. Please refer to the syllabus of the subject for more details. 

ESADE offers a Spanish intensive language course for all exchange students who want to learn or improve their Spanish. The Spanish Intensive Course take place during the Orientation Program and grants 2 ECTS.

**It is recommended that students chose courses from one Bachelor program, and within one year of that program to avoid classes overlapping. Students may choose their own courses; however, students are not admitted to courses until after a positive assessment of their academic profile.

Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Study Abroad Office for more details.

Students participating in the ESADE exchange will be able to apply to live on campus and will receive instructions on how to apply for on-campus accommodation during the ESADE application process. If students chooses to live off campus in an apartment or off-campus student residence, ESADE can provide suggestions and resources to help students secure housing.

The spring semester starts at the beginning of January and ends mid/late May. Exact dates will be provided each year by ESADE.

ESADE offers a Mandatory Orientation program for the first week and a half of the program. This orientation will cover all that you need to know about student services, getting around Barcelona, and expectations of exchange students.

Students who attend ESADE for a semester are required to obtain a Spanish visa. Students must appear in person at the Spanish consulate or embassy. Please contact the Study Abroad Office for information on the Spanish visa process.
