room? Check out these six tips to make your virtual Gamecock experience the best.
The University of South Carolina’s Virtual Open House is an excellent opportunity
for high school seniors to learn more about our university and what makes a South
Carolina education and experience so special. Over the course of four days, we will
share information about the admissions process, academics, student life, and more!
Open House events are typically in person, but this year you don’t even have to leave
your living room. Here are six tips to help you get the most out of our virtual Open
Don’t forget to register. If you haven’t done so already, head over to our website and sign up to attend one
of two virtual open house events. Our first event will take place Sept. 21-24, and
our second event will be Oct.5-8. If you haven't already, register now!
Plan ahead. Live sessions will be held every night of virtual open house, so look at the agenda
now and start thinking about which sessions you want to attend! If you can’t make
any of the sessions you’re interested in, they’ll be recorded and available to watch
on-demand for a limited time, so be sure to check back and watch them later before
Take notes. Open House sessions can cover a lot of information in a little amount of time, so
having a pen and paper ready to take notes on what you’ve learned will make it easier
to remember important information later.
Ask questions. As you attend our Open House events, don’t be afraid to ask questions! This experience
is meant to help you learn as much about our university as you would like, and Gamecocks
are always happy to share more with you about campus and what makes South Carolina
special to us.
Take a (virtual) tour. Here at the University of South Carolina, we have a beautiful campus, and we’d love
to show it to you! Be sure to register for a live online campus tour during which
our University Ambassadors will share more with you about the highlights of our campus
and provide an opportunity for a Q&A session afterward. You can also check out our
virtual campus map as another way to explore our school from the comfort of your home...
and cozy pajamas.
Explore our residence halls. Our University Housing website has compiled links to information about each of our
25 residence halls. Click on any of them to learn more about their rooms and amenities,
and be sure to refer to our virtual campus map to see where they are located in relation
to classroom buildings on campus! (Hello short commutes to morning classes).
We can’t wait for you to join us to learn more about our school and our home away
from home. Hopefully these tips will help you make the most out of your virtual open
house experience, and we look forward to meeting you!
