Here are some of the work experiences students have outside of the classroom.
SPARK - Carolina's Music Leadership Laboratory: In today's world, digital literacy is an essential component of any successful musician's
career. Spark's collection of technology equipment is designed to encourage and nurture
21st-century exploration for performers, educators and community-minded musicians.
Young Artist's Workshop: Through this volunteer program, students enrich the community by implementing what
they're learning in the classroom to teach art to local youth.
Digital Humanities: Exploring digital technology’s place in the worlds of art, science and literature illuminates
the human condition in a whole new way. The center supports various types of innovations in the use of digital technology for research,
teaching and public outreach in the humanities and related disciplines
SAVVY Arts Venture Challenge: This revolutionary professional development workshop teaches participants to become
better entrepreneurs, collaborators, change agents, community pillars and dreamers.
xMUSE Experimental Music Studio: xMUSE supports the creation of new music by exploiting the resources of cutting-edge
technology. Composers, performers, technical specialists and other creative artists
come together to design musical experiences that require the interaction of humans
Passage Gallery: The student-run exhibition space showcases work curated from group shows or individual
thesis shows. Students are encouraged to experiment with exhibition design and installation
and to use the gallery as a laboratory for developing new ideas.
