Application Deadlines and Announcement Dates

Fall Application Window:  September 22 - October 20, 2026 by 5:00 pm
Award Announcement Date: by December 11, 2026
Grant Duration: January 2027 through December 2027

Spring Application Window:  February 23 - March 23, 2027 by 5:00 pm
Award Announcement Date: by April 30, 2027
Grant Duration: June 2027 through May 2028

Eligibility Guidelines and Participating Communities

You must be: 

• a full-time, degree-seeking USC undergraduate student 
• in good standing with the university
• working under the guidance of a USC faculty mentor

In addition: 

• you may not submit an application during the semester you graduate
• preference given to students with a record of engagement and good standing in their community
• students may receive the Campus Partner Grant a maximum of two times
• preference may be given to those who have not previously received funding through the Campus Partner Grant
• students must be a current or former member of the following communities:
  • Capstone Scholars
  • Engineering and Computing Living Learning Community
  • First Generation Living Learning Community
  • Galen Health Fellows
  • Global Fellows
  • Preston Residential College for Leadership

 

Application Process

Complete the following steps by the deadline stated above for your application to be considered complete.

1. Complete the Undergraduate Research Campus Partner Application.  
   Work with your mentor to complete the document linked above. You will need it for the final step.
2. Ask your mentor(s) to complete the Mentoring Plan document(s) and have them email it to our@mailbox.sc.edu. It is due by 5pm on the deadline date.  
   • Mentoring Plan - Primary Mentor
   • Mentoring Plan - Secondary Mentor: note that graduate students are permitted as daily supervisors and secondary mentors, but are not eligible to be the promary mentor for a grant application. 
3. Submit the online application form found here during the application window, prior to the application deadline. 
   Select "Undergraduate Research Campus Partner Grant" from the menu. Under Project Information, upload the Undergraduate Research Campus Partner Grant Application form that you completed with your mentor.
   
   

Budget Guidelines

Funds from this grant may only be used for student salary.  The application must include an estimated number of research hours and hourly wage in the budget justification. Expenses must occur during the grant period – not before or after.
