Humanities Collaborative Spring 2022 Digital Humanities Meetings

Calling everyone interested in the digital humanities!

The newly formed Humanities Collaborative is sponsoring a new working group committed to the digital humanities that is aimed at humanists, librarians and graduate students with curiosity, interests, plans or projects related to the digital humanities.

Please join us to find out more at a Meet and Greet event Wednesday, February 9 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Our meetings for Spring 2022 will generally be held Fridays at 11 a.m., with informal plans to continue conversations over lunch afterwards (weather and COVID permitting).  To start:

  • Friday, January 28 at 11 a.m. Amie Freeman, Scholarly Communication Librarian, will speak on Digital Content Management with University Libraries. She will give an overview of the services the University Libraries offers to support digital projects. In this brief session, we’ll discuss digital content management and popular content management systems available to faculty and students, including WordPress, Scalar, and Omeka. We’ll also explore Create Digital, a free resource for simple web hosting, easy CMS installations, and more. (Hollings Library, South Carolina Political Collections seminar room)

  • Friday, February 4 at 11 a.m. via Zoom Hannah Alpert-Abrams of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will speak about NEH’s Digital Humanities funding opportunities. See more information and registration here

  • Wednesday, February 9, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Meet and Greet, will take place in Hollings Library, South Carolina Political Collection large seminar room. Hollings Library is entered through Thomas Cooper Library. You can also join through MS Teams.
