Changes to Operations

To respect social distancing measures and to ensure the health of the campus community, all University Libraries buildings will be closed effective Wednesday, March 18. Buildings affected are Thomas Cooper Library, Hollings Library, South Caroliniana Library, Moving Image Research Collections, the Music Library and the Annex.

Digital and Remote Services

The Libraries are continuing to serve our patrons by providing:

  • Online access to needed research materials
  • Assistance with research
  • Support for teaching in an online environment

Here’s how we can help.

In-person Services Suspended

Physical materials cannot currently be borrowed or returned. No fees or bills will be charged during this time. You can renew materials online. Suspended services include:

  • PASCAL Delivers service
  • Interlibrary Loan of physical materials
  • Employee book delivery
  • Distance education book delivery 

Changes to Events

  • Cancelled Thursday, March 19, 2 - 3 p.m., Music Authors Day, a reception to celebrate the scholarly work of School of Music faculty. Hosted by the Music Library.
  • Cancelled Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Open Gallery, hosted by Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, Hollings Library
  • Cancelled Saturday, March 21, 2 - 4 p.m., Remembering Elizabeth Boatwright Coker's Life and Literary Career, hosted by South Caroliniana Library and Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, Hollings Library
