Data visualization support may be desired at any stage of your research process. The University Libraries offers resources and services useful in data visualization.

Available Services

Guide

This guide provides information about the foundations of data visualization, finding data, selecting appropriate visualization types, choosing visualization tools, and additional data visualization learning resources.

Consultations

We can help you online or in-person. Discover information and  tutorials about data visualization and data vis tools. Decide on appropriate and effective visualization techniques. Consider, compare, and determine which tool(s) to use. Clean data for visualization.

Workshops

Learn about the foundations of data visualization, the principles that lead to effective and ineffective visualizations, and factors useful in choosing the best data visualization type and tool. Discover visualization capabilities of software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and the R programming language.  

Resources

Software for creating data visualizations can be found on the data and statistical analysis computers located in the back left of the Technology Lounge located on level 5 of Thomas Cooper Library. The same software can also be found on the remote access machines provided by the University Libraries. To request access to use the remote machines, follow the link below and fill out the Remote Access Software Request form on the right side of this page.
