CAPS, GOWNS, AND TASSELS
Associate Degree candidates must order their academic regalia from the USC Lancaster Bookstore. This is the cap and gown order form.
A response concerning your attendance at the 2019 USC Lancaster Commencement exercises is required. Please confirm your attendance.
We will rehearse one (1) time prior to Commencement, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles Bundy Auditorium, Bradley Arts and Sciences Building. Please put this date on your calendar and plan to be present. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you attend this rehearsal.
Due to limited seating in the Charles Bundy Auditorium, Bradley Arts and Sciences Building, each student will be issued a limited number of tickets for guests during rehearsal. Please remind your guests to bring their tickets to graduation. We will not be able to accommodate guests without tickets. There will be classrooms available for those guests without tickets to watch Commencement through a live video feed.
Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted into the auditorium for the graduation ceremony. A room will be available where children and an adult family member can remain during the ceremony. Children will not be allowed to stay in the room unless accompanied by an adult family member. They are, however, welcome (accompanied by an adult) to attend the reception immediately following the ceremony.
The President of the University of South Carolina, Dr. Harris Pastides, will confer our degrees. He will be accompanied by other dignitaries and several members of the University Board of Trustees. We are most grateful to them for joining us and participating in our Commencement exercises.
Following Commencement, a reception in your honor will be held in the John R. "Pete" Arnold Special Events Room of the James Bradley Arts and Sciences Building. We are all looking forward to seeing you, your families, and guests at that time. Please plan to join us.
For males, it is recommended that degree candidates wear dark trousers, an appropriate shirt underneath their academic gown, and dark dress shoes. Jackets should not be worn beneath an academic gown. Female degree candidates should wear dark slacks, dark dress, or dark skirt and an appropriate blouse underneath their academic gown. For safety and comfort, women are encouraged to wear dark low-heeled dress shoes.
